Guided quotation preparation

3 point tractor attachments: prepare a comparable factory request

Start with the tractor-side connection and the field task. Verdant Source Sourcing coordinates an independent sourcing brief so potential manufacturers receive the same power, interface, quantity and delivery requirements.

Illustrated three-point implement connection planning

Two pieces of work before a quote can be compared

Convert the field task into a written scope

Describe crop application, soil condition, operating area and working width. List engine power and PTO horsepower separately, together with the three-point hitch category, pin measurements, hydraulic connections and control requirements. If a value is unknown, ask for a drawing or manual check instead of selecting a convenient number.

Keep supplier replies on the same basis

Request the exact attachment configuration, included driveline, guards, adapters, packing and spare-parts package. Ask each supplier to identify currency, quantity unit, MOQ, sample arrangements, quote validity and delivery-term basis. Keep alternatives on separate lines so a cheaper but narrower or incomplete implement does not appear equivalent.

Questions that prevent an incomplete RFQ

Does a matching hitch category confirm the whole connection?

No. Ask for pin and mounting dimensions, top-link position, lift clearance and any quick-hitch details. The tractor manual and the attachment drawing need to describe the same physical arrangement. PTO shaft geometry and hydraulic routing are additional checks, not consequences of a category name.

How should samples and inspection be arranged?

Ask whether a sample or pre-shipment dimensional inspection is practical for the order. Define the drawing revision, measurement points, photographs, document package and acceptance criteria before agreeing to cost or scheduling. An inspection proposal is a separate service scope until confirmed.

Which costs belong beside the unit price?

Compare the implement, adapters, wear parts, packing, inland transport, freight, destination handling, duties and any agreed support fees. Ask who supplies each item and which charges are excluded. A trade term alone does not provide a complete delivered-cost calculation.

Replace an open-ended request with an accountable comparison

Brief still open

“Send a cheap attachment for a small tractor.” This leaves the task, hitch, power, working width, quantity and destination undecided. A low quote may cover a configuration that cannot be evaluated against the buyer's machine.

Brief ready for supplier clarification

“Quote the stated rear implement scope, with tractor manual references, measured hitch connection, required working width, PTO and hydraulic requirements, quantity in units and US delivery destination. Price the optional wear-parts kit separately and list deviations.” The supplier can then answer each unknown explicitly.

A premium preference may emphasize finish, customization or documentation. A budget-friendly preference may prioritize basic functionality; it must still meet the agreed interface and safety-document requirements. Supplier preferences express buyer priorities, not verified ratings. Review the request checklist and catalog options.

A written brief comes first

Submit the connection details you already know

Include quantity, destination, desired delivery date and unresolved measurements. We use the brief to discuss manufacturer matching and written quote scope; availability and compatibility require confirmation.
